Well, my wife is an avid scrapbooker and found that it took a lot of work just to submit one of her creations to all of the magazines and current contests. Not to mention that the creations won't even get considered if they are not formatted correctly or if they are caught by spam filters, mistaking them for spam. So I created ScrapSubmit.Com - a place that allows you to login and not only learn about all of the latest contests/calls, but also submit to all of them with just one click!

How can ScrapSubmit™ help me get published? |
When you click the button to submit your creation it is first formatted into a nice looking presentational format. Magazine editors prefer looking at submissions that are concise, easy to read, and contain all pertinent information such as a complete supply list, special techniques, and your contact information. Because we work closely with the publications, we are able to provide you with reliable information about what types of creations the magazines are looking for, enabling you to submit directly to the person in charge at each publication. Hundreds of scrapbookers have been published using the ScrapSubmit system! ScrapSubmit creations get noticed by the publications through our foolproof, user-friendly system.

Why not just submit on my own? |
The answer is simple! You can spend an average of fifteen to twenty minutes per submission filling out individual forms/e-mails for each publication, or you can submit the same creation to ALL of the publications at one time! Furthermore, ScrapSubmit ensures that you will not leave any important details out of your submissions, preventing the possibility of your submissions being rejected by a publication for being incomplete.

Why am I not receiving my submission confirmation e-mails? |
If you use a Hotmail/MSN e-mail address, you will not receive our submission confirmations. This is due to Hotmail/MSN blocking of automatic e-mails. If this is a problem for you, we suggest visiting our other free site called ScrapMail.net and signing up for a free e-mail address.

ScrapSubmit? suggests submitting an image that is 100k or less. Isn't this very small? |
The 100k size has nothing to do with the height and width of the image. You should be able to resize your image to 100k size without affecting the height/width of the image. This is most easily done by saving your image as a JPG file and using the JPG compression to bring it under 100k. This is an option in most graphic/photo editing programs. To resize your image online we recommend, http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ .

How can the publications print my layout if it is 100k in size or smaller? |
Your layout submissions are simply to give the publications a general idea of what your layouts look like. The images that you submit will not be the actual images that they print. If they like the layouts, they will request the actual layout to be sent via postal mail to them. They will then professionally scan and/or photograph your layout to suit their needs, then return the layout back to you when they are finished.

Can I just submit my creations without including a supply list, journaling, etc.? Can't I provide this information later if the creation is chosen for publication? |
Yes, you may submit just your contact information and the image(s), however, by doing so you may lessen your chances of having your creations chosen for publication. When a publication views your creation, it is best for them to be able to view all aspects of your submission. Sometimes, publications make choices based on supplies used, heartfelt journaling, and other fields that you may have left out when submitting an incomplete submission.

I am trying to submit my work before a specific deadline. If it is two hours before the deadline by my time, but my submission confirmation is dated AFTER the posted deadline, will the publication still accept my submission? |
It really depends on the person checking the entries at the publication; i.e. the publication's time zone is what is most important. I would submit as soon as possible before the deadline, and take into consideration the time zone of the specific publication you are submitting to.

I submitted layouts to a specific magazine, but never received a publication request from them for my work. Now that same magazine has listed another page call for which my previously submitted work would be perfect for. Is it safe to resubmit the same work to that same publication? |
Certainly! Sometimes new page calls are handled by specific departments at the publications, meaning that a new and different person may be looking at your work the second time around.
